METHOD FOR PRODUCING IRON-CONTAINING COKE, AND IRON-CONTAINING COKE

This method for producing iron-containing coke includes a mixing and forming step in which a molded product is obtained by mixing coal, by-product coal, iron ore and binder, and then molding a mixture. The by-product coal is obtained from an insoluble component in a solvent obtained after coal for solvent extraction has been mixed with the solvent, and a soluble coal component in the solvent has been extracted. The method for producing iron-containing coke also includes a carbonization step in which the aforementioned molded product is carbonized. The quantity of the by-product coal that is mixed in in the mixing and forming step is set at 1 to 12% of the total molded product.
