PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker with which delicious rice can be cooked even when using hard water.SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: a rice cooker body 1; a pan 3 housed in the rice cooker body 1 in a freely attachable or detachable manner; pan heating means 4 heating the pan 3; pan temperature detecting means 5 detecting the temperature of the pan 3; heating control means 6 controlling the pan heating means 4 while utilizing output power from the pan temperature detecting means 5 as input power; and a course selection button (not shown) with which a user can select courses depending on the hardness of the water to be used for rice cooking. The heating control means 6 controls the pan heating means 4 to lower the temperature of the pan 3 in a water absorption process in a rice cooking process comprising the water absorption process, a cooking process, a boiling-retaining process and a steaming process as the degree of the hardness of the water used is higher, so that rice can be deliciously cooked even when the user uses hard water to cook rice. |
