The device (31) has a light source (35) i.e. LED, and a light conductor (32) made from optically transparent material e.g. glass or plastic. The conductor comprises a longitudinal extension, two limiting surfaces, and a front side connecting the limiting surfaces. The light source is arranged at the front side of the conductor for coupling light into the conductor in the direction of the longitudinal extension. One of the limiting surfaces has a structuring unit formed by a structural element (34), where the element conducts and reflects the light coupled to the front side of the conductor.
