PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly burn an air-fuel mixture, improve output, and save fuel consumption by arranging plural pistons by sandwiching a single combustion chamber, and arranging intake-exhaust valves on a cylinder side surface by facing to a single combustion chamber so that a swirl flow can be generated in the combustion chamber. SOLUTION: Plural pistons, for example, two pistons 1 and 2 are oppositely arranged so as to sandwich a combustion chamber 3, and in this single combustion chamber 3, an air-fuel mixture is compressed, and air of displacement of two times can be compressed by burning this, and the respective pistons 1 and 2 are made to receive combustion pressure of higher pressure, and high output is generated. Intake-exhaust valves are arranged on a cylinder side surface by facing to the combustion chamber 3, and a swirl can generated in the combustion chamber 3. According to this, since the respective pistons 1 and 2 receive maximum combustion pressure, a pump loss can be reduced, and heat efficiency can be improved, and fuel consumption can be saved.
