PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject container capable of steadily and sufficiently supplying a gas such as oxygen required for the metabolism of cells without needing an oxygen supply device, etc., not causing the contamination of cells and simple in transportation by forming at least a part of the container from a gas-permeable plastic material. SOLUTION: This container is obtained by forming at least a part of the container from a gas-permeable plastic material. The gas-permeable plastic material is preferably a non-porous material. The gas-permeable plastic material preferably has transparency. The gas-permeable plastic material is preferably obtained by polymerizing polymerization components containing a silicon- containing monomer. The silicon-containing monomer includes silicon-containing (meth)acrylates and/or silicon-containing styrene derivatives.
