1. Encapsulated fertilizer granulates encapsulated with an ethylene copolymer bearing carboxyl groups in which the carboxyl groups may also be in the form of their salts, where the ethylene copolymer bearing carboxyl groups consists of a) 75 to 90 wt. % ethylene and b) 10 to 30 wt. % of an α-olefin alkyl carboxylic acid, comprising 3-8 carbon atoms in the alkyl group and from which such encapsulated fertilizer granulates containing an active plant protection agent are excluded. 2. Encapsulated fertilizer granulates of Claim 1 wherein the ethylene copolymer containing carboxyl groups comprises acrylic and/or methacrylic acid as monomer (b). 3. Encapsulated fertilizer granulates of Claim 1 or 2, wherein the ethylene copolymer containing carboxyl groups has a melt index 1-25 g/min. 4. Encapsulated fertilizer granulates of Claims 1-3, wherein the ethylene copolymer containing carboxyl groups characterized by such melting zone in which the temperature of full transfer of the polymer to the melted state (Ts) is above 80 degree C. 5. Encapsulated fertilizer granulates of Claims 1-4, wherein the ethylene copolymer containing carboxyl groups has the temperature of glass point below 50 degree C. 6. Encapsulated fertilizer granulates of Claims 1-5, wherein the granules of which have the largest mean diameter 0.5-10 mm.
