<p>A composite label comprises a first portion 4 and a second portion 6 removeably attached to the first portion. The first and second portions are attached to each other, preferably by overlaying the attachment regions of each portion. The second portion comprises an identification device, such as an RFID element, comprising an inlay 8 mounted on a carrier material 10, the carrier material 10 extending beyond the inlay to form the attachment region. The label may be sewn into a seam of a garment and the first portion may comprise information such as washing instructions. The portions may be detached from each other by tearing across a line of weakness such as perforations. The label allows a consumer to protect their privacy by removing RFID security tags after purchase but allowing a care instruction label to remain attached to the garment.</p> |
