PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation device for separating crustacea such as shrimps and others by size. SOLUTION: A separation device is constituted of a roller conveyor having a number of parallel rolls, which are supported rotatably on a chain and provided with clearances between adjacent rollers 14, and supported by a machine frame 12 and a device for adjusting the width of the clearances between the adjoining rollers. In that case, the device is provided with a plurality of adjusting levers having first arms and second arms supported rotatably on the chain, an adjusting rail with a cam face supported by the machine frame and extending substantially above the length 20 of a separation pass above the chain and being brought into contact with the first arms of the adjusting levers and a rail adjusting device for working forcibly the first arms of the adjusting levers in compliance with the angle between the chain and the cam for the purpose of adjusting the width of the clearances between adjoining rollers and adjusting the angle of the cam face to the chain by the adjusting rail so that the chain is provided with torsion.
