PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance recording device for an optical recording medium which can record information data without causing a gap in recording positions. SOLUTION: A gate signal generating part which generates a gate signal based on data signal, a prepit signal generating part which generates a prepit signal from the signal read by an optical recording medium, a gate circuit which lets the prepit signal pass in response to the gate signal to generate a prepit pulse string, a pulse extracting device which extracts the pulse of a prescribed waveform from the prepit pulse string and a synchronous signal generating part which generates a recording synchronous signal based on the pulse of the prescribed waveform.
