A configuration method and apparatus in a discontinuous reception mechanism. The method comprises: a user equipment (UE) determining an end value of the length of expected working time of a coexisting module of the UE in a discontinuous reception (DRX) period; and the UE sending time division multiplexing (TDM) auxiliary information that contains the end value to a base station, so that the base station configures DRX for the UE according to the TDM auxiliary information. Through the method and the apparatus of embodiments, the processing for a terminal in the DRX configuration process is optimized and normal operations of an LTE module and an ISM module of the terminal are ensured.
