<p>An alkaline battery wherein: a positive electrode (2) that is formed of manganese dioxide and a negative electrode (3) are contained in a bottomed cylindrical battery case (1), with a separator (4) interposed therebetween; and an opening of the battery case is sealed by the intermediary of a gasket (5). The half width of the (110) plane of the manganese dioxide as determined by powder X-ray diffraction is within the range from 1.80° to 2.40°, and anatase titanium dioxide is added to the positive electrode in an amount within the range from 0.10% by mass to 1.50% by mass.</p> |
