In the present invention, the aggregation of shape-anisotropic members is prevented. A display panel (2) of one embodiment of the present invention is provided with substrates (10, 20) disposed opposing each other, and a light modulation layer (30) that includes a plurality of shape-anisotropic members (32). The shape-anisotropic members (32) comprise a core serving as a conductor and a covering layer serving as a dielectric that covers the entire perimeter of the core. The display panel (2) changes the voltage applied to the light modulation layer (30) and thereby changes the projection area of the shape-anisotropic members (32) with respect to the substrates (10, 20). |
