The method involves connecting mobile device to interface of driver assistance system. The sensors of mobile device are configured to transmit the sensor data to the control unit which is configured to process sensor data, so as to provide driving assistance to vehicle driver. The control unit is configured to transmit processed sensor data to mobile device. The calibration of the mobile device is carried out during the initial integration of the mobile device through the interface in the driver assistance system.
