An object is to provide a fishing reel including a stopper mechanism (21) that prevents damage on a fishing line (15) and permits releasing a desired length of fishing line. In accordance with one aspect, a fishing reel has a hook (22a) and a collar (23) integrally provided on a spool (7) and configured to lock a fishing line therebetween. When the fishing line is released to the locked point, the hook (22a) and the collar (23) are moved integrally with the fishing line in the direction of releasing the fishing line, while receiving a biasing force that lowers the moving speed. In this movement, the fishing line does not contact the spool (7) and receives a relieved load. |
