An electrical connector which is compatible with USB 2.0 and 3.0 specifications comprises: a base board 200 with a plurality of first and second contact pads 201, 202 embedded and exposed on one end of the board 200; a plurality of first terminals 210 with a first end connected with a corresponding first contact pad 201, and a second end forming a barb-like contact portion 211; a plurality of second terminals 230 with a first end connected with a corresponding second contact pad 202, and a second end defining a contact protrusion 231; and an insulating housing 240 with a window 241, wherein the contact portions 211 of the first terminals 210 and the contact protrusions 231 of the second terminals 230 are exposed through the window 241. In one embodiment, the first ends of the second terminals 230 are arranged alternately with the first terminals 210, and the base board 200, together with the first and second terminals 210, 230 are disposed in the insulating housing 240. In a separate embodiment, an insulating body has a plurality of through-slots and separation blocks. The insulating body, together with the first and second terminals are assembled in the insulating housing. |
