Plastic high heat fastener

A polymeric fastener (10; 90) includes a body (12) having multiple sides (14) adapted to accept a tool for applying torque to the body (12) to axially rotate the body (12) with respect to a body longitudinal axis (18). A flange (16) integrally connected to the body (12) extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (18). A wave-shaped washer (20; 92) integrally connected to the flange (16) has multiple valleys (22) interposed between multiple oppositely directed peaks (24). Multiple triangular shaped frangible connectors (26) integrally join the flange to the wave-shaped washer (20; 92). Each frangible connector (26) is integrally connected at a first end (25) to the flange (16), and is integrally connected at an opposite connecting tip (33) to an individual one of the peaks (24). The connecting tip (33) has a reduced thickness compared to the first end (25) to induce fracture of each frangible connector (26) at the connecting tip (33). (Fig. 2A)
