The present invention relates to an open type ID authentication method and, more specifically, to a method, an apparatus, and a system for authenticating an open type ID, capable of preventing network overload caused by repeated data transmission in the authentication process for the open type ID. An open type ID authentication system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a web service providing apparatus and a user terminal. The web service providing apparatus provides a specific web service and supports the login of a user terminal with an open type ID service method according to the mutual agreement of an open type ID management apparatus. The user terminal includes an isolation environment separated into a security area operated based on an operating system for security and a non-security area operated based on an open type operating system; and executes login by transmitting a user authentication approval message to the web service providing apparatus through the web browser of the non-security area after executing user authentication based on the password stored in the security area corresponding to the open type ID when receiving a re-direction message from the web service providing apparatus after transmitting the inputted open type ID to the web service providing apparatus through the web browser by enabling the web service providing apparatus to connect to the web browser operated in the non-security area according to the user demand.
