The present invention relates to a printed media scrap service system using a pen type digital scanner scanning a part of an image of a scrap document which is a printed partial area of a printed media for a user to want to scrap and then transmitting the scan image. The printed media scrap service system includes a document search information database which stores content information of the scrap document and position information of the document image of the scrap document as to a document identifier of the scrap document allocated to the scrap document and a document image database storing the document image of the scrap document. The system includes: an image receiving module (101) receiving the scan image scanned in a pen type digital scanner as to the scrap document which the user wants to scrap through a communication network; a character recognition module (102) recognizing characters of the received scan image and then converting the recognized characters into character string; a document matching search module (103) which extracts the character identifier of the scrap document in which the converted character string is included in the content information by searching the document search information database, and generates and stores scrap information about a specific user by arranging the extracted document identifier by referring to the user identifier of a specific user; and a scrap document service module (104) which extracts and transmits a document identifier list of the scrap document from the scrap information of the specific user according to the request of the specific user through a communication network, and searches the document image of the scrap document from the document image database and then transmits the searched document image to a user terminal.
