A method for changing the state of the eyelids of mammals other than humans; a model animal for evaluating the treatment or prophylactic effect, on eyelid diseases, obtained by using this method; a production method for this model animal; a screening method using this model animal; a substance having a treatment or prophylactic effect on eyelid diseases, selected by using this screening method; and a treatment or prophylactic agent for eyelid diseases, containing said substance as an effective component thereof.
