This server system (9) is provided with a first server (91) operating as an operating system, and a plurality of second servers (92) operating as a standby system. The second server (92) has: a position-information control unit (921) for transmitting to the first server (91) position information showing the position of a client, in response to access from the client; and a switching processor (922) for switching the second server (92) from the standby system to the operating system when a switching instruction is received. The first server (91) has: a switching-destination-setting unit (911) for setting as a switching destination, on the basis of the position information transmitted from the second server (92), the second server (92) that is nearer than the first server (91) to the position of a client shown by the position information; and a switching-instruction unit (912) for transmitting switching-instruction information to the second server (92) set as the switching destination.
