PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a servo signal detection method using an average value method that a recording operation is accompanied by changes in the intensity of reflected light from an optical disk during recording and light amount distribution, because these physical characteristic changes generally depend on characteristics of the optical disk such as the structure or the composition of an information recording layer, and thus a variance is enlarged and it is difficult to stably obtain desired performance. SOLUTION: A servo signal is detected by using reflected light from an optical disk immediately after optical power reaches a recording level.
