The purpose of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for transmitting data facilitating extending the battery life of a terminal device by reducing a data transmission time through minimizing the standby time which is taken for a terminal device to receive data from a server. The standby time can be minimized by the following steps: transmitting the wake-up message of a terminal and current product related data at the same time; checking the current product related data from the server; and immediately transmitting the corrected product related data corrected based on the check result. In order to achieve the above object, a data transmission system according to the present invention comprises multiple terminal devices (130), a server (110), and a gateway (120). The multiple terminal devices (130): transmit a wake-up message and current product related data to the server (110) through the gateway (120) in the time slot for each terminal device; wait for receiving the corrected data from the server (110); compare current data with the corrected data transmitted by the server; display updates and changes if the changes and updates exist in the corrected data; enter into a sleep mode after a standby time passes; and wait for the next time slot. The server (110): checks the current product related data received with a wake-up notification message from the terminal (130) through the gateway (120); immediately transmits, to the relevant terminal device, the corrected data corrected based on the check result. As a result, the data transmission system is characterized by: completing the transmission and reception between the terminal devices (130) and the server (110) within a short time; and minimizing the battery consumption of the multiple terminal devices (130).
