PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant disease controlling agent, which is commonly applicable to various crops and plant diseases and ensures safety in the whole environment over a prolonged period of time, and a method for controlling plant diseases using the same.SOLUTION: There are provided a plant disease controlling agent including magnesium oxide obtained by baking magnesium hydroxide at 400 to 1,000°C and a method for controlling plant diseases by using the plant disease controlling agent. It is preferred that the method includes mixing the plant disease controlling agent with soil in a plow layer and soil for raising seedlings, applying an aqueous suspension of the plant disease controlling agent to foliage, or immersing plant roots in the plant disease controlling agent and irrigating plant feet therewith. |
