PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: when spread pages of a book are read, if page division is performed by specifying desired areas of the pages, the sizes of the areas specified for the pages become different from each other, and a resulting image becomes different in appearance from an image of an original document.SOLUTION: When image data read in a spread two-page mode to read a spread pages of a document and divide the read pages is input to display a preview image, and a first area of one of the pages divided in the spread two-page mode is specified to the displayed preview image, the specification of the first area is reflected to specification of a second area of the other of the pages divided in the spread two-page mode. Image data of the first and second areas are then cut out from the image data read in the spread two-page mode. |
