PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which: the temperature of a hydrodesulfurization agent on a gas inlet side is low in a gas passage leading to a hydrogenation desulfurizer because the agent flows in with the temperature equal to room temperature; the temperature of the hydrodesulfurization agent on a gas outlet side becomes high because the temperature of a reforming catalyst rises through an inner heat insulation material; and the whole hydrodesulfurization agent cannot be maintained at about the uniform temperature, thereby causing the load of the hydrodesulfurization agent to be increased.SOLUTION: A hydrogen generator includes: a hydrogenation desulfurizer in which a hydrodesulfurization catalyst that removes a sulfur compound contained in a raw material gas is filled; a reformer in which the raw material gas, from which the sulfur compound is removed, is reformed to generate a hydrogen-containing gas; and an inner heat insulation material arranged between a hydrogen generation vessel and the hydrogenation desulfurizer. The hydrogenation desulfurizer includes an inlet into which the raw material gas is supplied and an outlet that discharge the raw material gas, and the inner heat insulation material is configured so that thermal insulation performance of an inlet heat insulation material arranged in a part between an inlet of the hydrogenation desulfurizer and the reformer becomes lower than thermal insulation performance of an outlet heat insulation material arranged in a part between an outlet of the hydrogenation desulfurizer and the reformer. |
