The instrument has two opposite spreading claws (1, 2) adjustable against each other and fastened to a carrier rail (10) by carrier arms (3, 4) e.g. gear rods. One of the spreading claws is pivotably supported at the carrier arms around a pivot axis (31), which runs transverse to the carrier rail and parallel to the carrier arms. One of the spreading claws is adjustable by an adjustment mechanism (42) with respect to another spreading claw by pivoting for enlargement of the spreading position. The adjustment mechanism has an eccentric cam adjustable by an operating lever (47). |
