A turbocharger mounting apparatus includes a mounting member 46 which attaches to an engine and has a first engagement surface 52 and an engine mounting member 48 attached to a turbocharger. The engine mounting member 48 has a second engagement surface 54 for engagement with the first engagement surface, and third engagement surface 56. A retainer which includes a wedge 58 and a fourth engagement surface 60 for engagement with the third engagement surface 56 is provided for securing the engine mounting member to the turbocharger mounting member. In use, the wedge urges relative movement between the engine mounting member and the turbocharger mounting member in a direction which is substantially lateral to the securing direction so as to bring the first and second engagement surfaces into abutment. |
