Shelves and drawers. -Sliding shelves and drawers are supported when fully drawn out by arms or strips secured to their sides and passing through guides so arranged that when the drawer &c. is fully extended the arms are only in contact with the lower front edge and the upper back edge of the guide. For this purpose the arms b are shaped as shown, and the guides d consist of metal plates secured to the sides of the chest of drawers, &c., and formed with slots sloping upwards as shown. A removable pin e prevents the drawer &c. from being drawn completely out. |
