Wave energy converter, method for operating the same and control device

The wave energy converter has a rotor that is adapted for converting the wave motion of a water body into a rotational motion of the rotor. The medium density of the rotary component of the rotor smaller than the medium density of the water body surrounding the rotor, is adjusted. The rotary component is provided with a rotor base, a lever arm and a coupling portion of the rotor for coupling with the shaft. The rotary component is rotated symmetrically around a rotational axis of the rotor. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for operating a wave energy converter; and (2) control device for a wave energy converter.
