A guide rail (1) for an apparatus for transporting PET-bottles (12) is disclosed. The guide rail (1) supports a guiding insert (3), which is touched by the PET-bottles (12) during transport. The surface (5) of the guiding insert (3) touching the PET-bottles (12) is provided with a polymer material (P) which at 23° C. has a larger modulus of elasticity than PET and at 100° C. itself has a modulus of elasticity lower by less than 20%.
