The present invention discloses receipt recognition method and system using a mobile camera. A receipt recognition method using a mobile camera includes: a step of photographing a receipt with a mobile camera; a step of storing the photographed image of the receipt in a memory; a step of extracting text lines comprising a text part by classifying the stored image of the receipt into a text part and a non-text part; a step of extracting a product name line corresponding to a name of product from the text lines; a step of extracting a product name database keyword from the product name line; and a step of searching the product name database and recognizing the product name using the extracted keyword. According to the present invention, the reduction of a recognition rate due to inherent properties of a receipt such as crumpling, bending, broken characters, blurred characters and erased characters when photographing with a mobile camera is able to be resolved. Also, the user friendliness is provided to a user and the receipt input processing time is able to be reduced by making the user selectively use snap auto, snap touch and preview capture methods according to a use habit in a mobile environment.
