A method for controlling a touch input in a terminal includes steps of: identifying a touch position when sensing a touch input; and setting as an effective touch region a partial region of a touch panel including the identified pen touch position. The method incudes more a step of checking whether the touch input occurs by a pen or not and sensing the touch input by the touch panel for sensing a user's touch or an EMR panel for sensing the pen touch input. The method identifies the touch position if sensing the touch input by the EMR panel.
