The table has a plate (5) presenting sides and an upper face and including a housing opened on the upper face and one of the sides. A shelf (7) is movably mounted along translation in the housing between a folded up position in which the shelf is received in the housing, and a deployed position in which the housing extends partly out of the housing. The shelf is dimensioned to level the upper face of the plate to present itself in continuity of a surface with the plate. The shelf includes an obstinate system co-operating with a complementary unit of the plate to limit its translatory movement.
