摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery, by which a coated graphite particle including a graphite particle with a surface coated with amorphous carbon is obtained using pitch without performing infusibilization treatment.SOLUTION: A negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery is a coated graphite particle including a graphite particle with a surface coated with amorphous carbon. In a method for producing the negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery, the graphite particle is added with pitch and an aromatic carboxylic acid anhydride having a boiling point exceeding 284°C to be mixed, and the mixture is fired in an inert atmosphere to obtain the coated graphite particle.
