PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning unit that adequately eliminates static electricity from spun yarn and thereby can reduce an influence of static electricity, and to provide a spinning machine.SOLUTION: A spinning unit comprises: a spinning device for producing spun yarn; a yarn detection part for detecting the spun yarn; and an electric discharge part for making the spun yarn discharge static electricity between the spinning device and the yarn detection part. A spinning machine plurally has the spinning unit.
