The drive controller (10) has a safety device (11) that is provided for actuating a switching device (31). Switching contacts (32-34) of switching device are attached to one another. Specific ends of switching contacts are connected to respective phase (42-44) of a drive device (40), such that an axle of drive device is driven. The safety device is provided for transmitting a drive signal to switching device, in order to control the short circuit in phases of drive device with switching device, if the safety device determines that the axle is shut down. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a technical system; and (2) a method for stopping axles of drive device.
