<p>An elongate structural member 102 for a wall frame, having a C-shaped or U-shaped cross-section, comprises first and second wall portions 204 separated by a connecting wall portion 302. The first and second portions have recesses 304, each with a base portion with at least one substantially flat bearing surface 308 surrounding at least one hole 306. The recesses may extend internally and may have conical cross sections. The base portion of each recess may be circular, with the respective holes being located centrally in each base portion. Further recesses may be provided in the connecting portion, with a rib provided between them. The structural member may have a uniform thickness and may be formed from rolled and punched sheet steel. A structural assembly for a wall frame may comprise multiple structural members with nested recesses. A method of assembling a wall frame is also disclosed.</p> |
