PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter sorter capable of sorting large and small foreign matter present as a mixture in a granular material e.g. polished rice, by means of a single apparatus.SOLUTION: A foreign matter sorter includes a first sorting section which has a fixed cylindrical body having a large number of small holes smaller than well-ordered grains of the granular material and a first rotation shaft arranged within the fixed cylindrical body and fixed with two or more stirring members, discharges small foreign matter from the holes and carries out the granular material with small foreign matter having been removed from the other end of the fixed cylindrical body and a second sorting section which has a rotary cylindrical body having a large number of holes a little larger than well-ordered grains of the granular material and a second rotation shaft fixed with the rotary cylindrical body, discharges well-ordered grains of the granular material from the holes of the rotary cylindrical body and discharges the large foreign matter from the other end of the rotary cylindrical body. The first and second sorting sections are arranged continuously, and the first and second rotation shafts are connected with each other through a transmission mechanism reducing the rotation speed of the first rotation shaft. |
