PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader in which a transparent read sheet arranged between a contact glass and a transported document is difficult to be damaged and an interference fringe caused between the transparent read sheet and the contact glass is suppressed and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the image reader.SOLUTION: In an image reader 3, a document sheet P is transported on a second transportation path 342, the sheet passes through a document read position X and is discharged through a third transportation path 343. A transparent sheet 70 is installed on a contact glass 222. The transparent sheet 70 is energized to a contact glass 222 side by a transportation guide sheet 62. Both ends in a main scanning direction of the transparent sheet 70 are directly energized to the contact glass 222 side with a projection 36T which is projected from a contact surface guide 36. Thus, the transparent sheet 70 is suppressed to float from the contact glass 222. |
