PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a digital sheet printing apparatus capable of preventing damage of a nozzle head even if a failure in conveying a sheet occurs.SOLUTION: A digital sheet printing apparatus includes: a conveyance unit 33 for conveying a sheet S1; nozzle heads 34a-34d for discharging ink onto the sheet S1 conveyed by the conveyance unit 33; a conveyance state detecting unit 99 provided on an upstream side in the conveying direction of the sheet S1 from the nozzle heads 34a-34d to detect a conveyance state of the sheet S1; nozzle mounting/removing devices 276 and 278 for moving the nozzle heads 34a-34d between a printing position for printing on the sheet S1 and a retreat position separate from a surface of the sheet S1; and a control unit 100 for controlling the nozzle mounting/removing devices 276 and 278 to move the nozzle heads 34a-34d to the retreat position when the conveyance state detecting unit 99 detects a failure in conveying the sheet S1 conveyed by the conveyance unit 33. |
