PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an orientation error of a vehicle, thereby acquiring a further appropriate result in subsequent processing.SOLUTION: A vehicle position detection device includes: a start/end point calculation unit that obtains a turn start point on a link before turning, and obtains a turn end point on a link after turning; a virtual link generation unit that obtains a virtual link linking the turn start point and the turn end point; a link orientation calculation unit that calculates a virtual link orientation, which is the orientation at a prescribed position on the virtual link; and an error calculation unit that uses the virtual link orientation to calculate an orientation error for the orientation of the vehicle. |
