PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the trouble of previously storing the information which can become a part of destination information used when the destination information is compiled.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a self-station name storage section for storing a self-station name used for facsimile communication; a destination information storage section for storing destination information used when at least one of network communication and facsimile communication is performed; a candidate information storage section for storing destination candidate information which can become a part of the destination information; a retrieval execution section for requesting retrieval of a home page where the self-station name is included from a prescribed main server and receives a retrieval result list; a destination candidate information acquisition section for acquiring the destination candidate information included in the home page included in the retrieval result list; a candidate storage control section for storing the acquired destination candidate information in the candidate information storage section; and a compilation operation receiving section for receiving compilation operation for using the destination candidate information stored in the candidate information storage section for a part of destination information stored in the destination information storage section.
