The system has a connector comprising a plugging connecting piece and a cam i.e. twin cam. The cam is arranged in the connecting piece and engages with an aperture of a bar-shaped component (3) to be fastened. A retainer (11) is arranged on an inner side of an aperture (6) of the component and formed such that the cam is supported in a rotational position of the connecting piece by a clamping process. The aperture exhibits a contour that matches with a contour of the cam. The retainer comprises a central recess portion, and the cam protrudes transverse to the connecting piece. An independent claim is also included for a connector for a connection system.
