Motor vehicles of all kinds are nowadays equipped with windscreen wiper blades. These wiper blades are subject to severe wear. Even extremely small unevennesses (scratches) in the surface of the wiper lip leave behind distinct streaks on the windscreen during wiping. A new wiper blade was thus necessary. With the aforementioned recutting device, it is possible to make the wiper lip fully functional again. To this end the windscreen wiper blade is pulled through the recutting device. The wiper rubber can be left in its mount. In the recutting device there is disposed a peeling knife. This peeling knife cuts the damaged part from the wiper lip so that a fully functional surface is again present on the wiper lip.
