PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methods that facilitate quickly locating a job plan for executing a received job, and performing additional search for an optimal-quality plan, within a predefined time bound.SOLUTION: A method comprises: receiving a job to be planned; analyzing a set of precomputed plans to identify a first plan that is feasible; scheduling the first plan as a default plan; setting a maximum planning time period in order to identify a second plan; identifying the second plan if available; and determining whether the second plan is better than the first plan.
