Disclosed are a liquid crystal display device and a display method capable of improving the side definition of a VA mode. The liquid crystal display device includes a time sharing part dividing an inputted image frame into two or more sub frames and dividing an image signal in each sub frame and a display part displaying an image based on the divided signal. Each pixel is composed of first and second areas, and the areas have different liquid crystal response speeds. Therefore, when time sharing technology is applied, a space division effect can be automatically performed because the pixel is composed of two or more areas having different crystal response speeds.
