FIELD: physics.SUBSTANCE: intraocular lens has at least two optical elements arranged in series along an optical axis and an accommodative mechanism connected to at least one of the optical elements and adapted to control the combined optical power of the optical elements in response to the natural accommodative forces of the eye in which the optical elements are implanted to facilitate accommodation. At least one of the optical elements has a surface characterised by a first refracting region, a second refracting region and a transition region in between, where the optical phase shift of incident light through the transition region has a design wavelength corresponding to the fractional part of that wavelength.EFFECT: design of accommodative intraocular lenses which increase vision sharpness owing to controlled change in phase shift through the transition region on the lens surface.19 cl, 12 dwg |
