PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which has a large discharge capacity per unit volume even when used at a high charge/discharge rate.SOLUTION: An electrode material, which comprises a sintered compact of a lithium composite oxide having a layered rock-salt type crystal structure and containing at least two of Co, Mn, and Ni and contains 0.5-5.0 mass% of zinc in terms of oxide in the sintered compact, is used as a cathode 1 of the secondary battery. Thus, zinc in the sintered compact improves electron conductivity between particles of the lithium composite oxide, as an oxide having relatively high electron conductivity, thereby allowing the secondary battery to have a high capacity density even at a high charge/discharge rate. |
