METHOD FOR PREPARING 2,3-BUTANEDIOL FROM COMMERCIAL CARBON SOURCE BY TRANSFORMED KLEBSIELLA PNEUMONIAE

The present invention relates to a method for producing 2,3-butandiol. More particularly, the present invention provides a method for producing 2,3-butanediol by using transgenic Klebsiella pneumonia, wherein the method comprises the steps of: (a) inactivating a nucleotide sequence coding wabG of Klebsiella; (b) preparing a recombinant vector by inserting a nucleotide sequence coding acetolactate decarboxylase and a nucleotide sequence coding acetolactate synthase into an expression vector; (c) preparing transgenic Klebsiella by introducing the recombinant vector into the Klebsiella; (d) preparing 2,3-butandiol by culturing the transgenic Klebsiella in a culture medium; and (e) obtaining the 2,3-butandiol. According to the present invention, 2,3-butandiol can be economically produced by using industrial carbon sources, which are economical as compared with the prior art.
