PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the start of an occupant protection device at a low cost and accurately.SOLUTION: The main start determination of an occupant protection device is performed based on output signals from both a first acceleration sensor 11 disposed in the vicinity of a central part of a vehicle and second acceleration sensors 121, 122 disposed in the vicinity of an edge of the vehicle. In the case that an arithmetic value based on the output signal of the first acceleration sensor is equal to or larger than a predetermined first threshold or in the case that an arithmetic value based on the output signals of the second acceleration sensors is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold and the arithmetic value based on the output signal of the first acceleration sensor is equal to or larger than a predetermined second threshold smaller than the first threshold, first safing determination is performed where it is determined that the start of the occupant protection device is required. In the case that it is determined that the start is required both in the main start determination and in the first safing determination, the occupant protection device is started. |
